Awesome track

I loved circle of the moon, although I'm sure this song originates further back then that. Either way, this game brought back some good memories. I love the choice of instruments and you started slow, yet kept the song very upbeat. Great remix overall.

PS: I found out about this song through a rather bad flash submission, it was a new artist so nothing against him, either way I guess there is a positive side to bad flash on newgrounds :)

I've seen the flash you are talking about

memories

This brings back memories, both on newgrounds and playing FF1. I've downloaded, listened and voted on this song so many times, yet never reviewed, so here I am. The piano sound is brilliant alone, I bet you could hit any stream of notes on a single scale and with that sound it wouldn't be half bad, incredibly clear and beautiful sound. As for the song itself, this really brings the 8 bit to life, and adds some emotion to it as well. I've even gone as far as learning the first few parts on the piano because I liked your version so much, that was years ago though but I still play it every now and then :)
Anyway, not sure if you'll ever see this review, but amazing work.

On a side not, chrnomut reviewed this like a week and a half ago, I thought he died :O Release some more music, both of you :P

Realmguys responds:

I haven't been on much in the past year I'm sorry for that. My job consumes me. I wanted to thank you very much for taking the time to write me this. I appreciate the words of inspiration and encouragement. Thank you and I'm glad this meant something to you :) Later.

This song rules

Ambient music rules and this song is a perfect example IMO. I've had this on my computer for about a week now and I must say it's awesome. I love everything going on in this, the sounds, the pace, the piano. All around it just works great together. My only complaint is the file size, and that's only a complaint because I wanna use it in my upcoming flash game but it's so damn big to keep the audio quality good :P

Meh, I'm bent on using this song so I'll figure it out. Anyway, awesome piece of music here, I'll check out the rest of your work.

Zuelo responds:

Glad you like the track =) , and please sent me a note when you have finish your game , btw thanks for the nice words (and sorry for the late reply)

Awesome piece

Very mood setting. The melody of this flowed incredibly well and the piano sound was crystal clear. The ambient noises later really helped support the melody of the piece overall. I think I'll use the beginning (first 15 seconds or less) to create a loop for the main menu of a new game I'm working on, I like the relaxing feel it gives, fit's in with my game. Anyway, great piece overall, again excellent work on the sound quality.

Reasoner responds:

Use whatever you like. I'm just happy this song is doing as well as it has so far. Thanks for the 10 bro!

Sweetness and a Half

Awesome use of sounds, and one of the best tracks from the entire DK series. Great quality as well, nice remix. Downloaded :)

SupraDarky responds:

Thank you Matt!

Mmmmmm good music

This actually made my night, goldensun is pretty much my favorite rpg of all time. Awesome job on orchestrating this piece, great choice of instruments. You should do the Sol Senctrum song, the elemental star room one. If you did, I would love you forever and a half, I already love you forever for this song, but forever and a half is a lot more, so you should do it.

What the crap taco?

How is it that your songs slide by without so many people knowing, then pop back up out of nowhere? That was semi rhetorical, we all know assholes vote 0 to send new submission to their death for no reason.

Aside from that, I appreciate the slow down you did here. At first I was like, faster! Then it grew on me, it just adds to the maniacal vibe that Kefka is oh so good at giving off. Seriously, I would love to see kefka redone in a modern game without any tweaks, I mean his personality was so strong for a game back then, imagine how he would compare to that of Sephiroth if he was to be modernized?

Anywho, I like the instruments (as always) and the overall flow of the song just works well. Also the steam like sounds with drumming on something that follow that are pretty sweet, can't seem to place what I'm hearing though, but that just adds to the fun of the mystery of chronomut music. Overall another good piece, to bad college is most likely kicking your ass like mine and you can't spend to much free time doing what you love :(

PS: Ever get that penny whistle you were talking about?

poolplayermaster responds:

i probably have no clue on that penny whistle but college no work yes 98 hours a pay period i try to find ones that suit me best and i always thaught hte original was too fast so i slowed it down to make it more deeper and demonic sounding only thing that coulda made it better was having his laugh in it i think

Very nice

It's not a masterpiece, but it's definitely a nice piece. Shame that voters bashed it to the ground :(

Anyway, It's pretty clear, very flowing and has an overall nice sound to it. Overall I like it, maybe a little to much going on at once, not really sure what holds it back from being top notch. Either way it's a great piece, keep up the good work.

Very nice

It had a nice flow to it, I liked what I was hearing. I think you brought the strings out a little to much around the halfway point, I was hearing some very nice piano in the background but couldn't fully pull it out over the strings. I'm talking about the lower piano notes, not the melody. Overall though, It was a very beautiful piece, downloaded :)

InariPlex responds:

Hey, yeah, I was thinking the same thing...I don't know what happened when I tried to balance the audio... Thanks for the compliments and suggestion =D.

Damn Straight

One of my favorite games of all time as well, the story and gameplay are amazing.
Just to back up my lovingness for this game on par with yours, in the first game which you beat at roughly level 30, I took it upon myself to play 228 hours to get all my characters to level 99, then in the second game I got all 8 characters to level 99, damn I love those games. Alex was a bad ass enemy, had a personality unlike many villains today.

Anyway, aside from my love for this game, you made an awesome remix. There's very few GS remixes on this site and I get excited every time I see a new one, this one was awesome.

Sadly I don't think they are going to make a third one, the original plan was to produce the 3rd game after Mario Tennis advanced, but that clearly never happened. The rumors of the Game Cube version also died out as well. However, I'm a coder in flash and I honestly do plan on making a full 3rd game someday, so maybe one day you'll find my version of the 3rd game on newgrounds :)

As for songs to remix, o man here we go.

1.) Sol Senctum (Elemental star room) 1st pick by far
2.) Venus Lighthouse theme
3.) Kolima Forest
4.) Main Theme
5.) Vale Theme

So many more, I'm rusty with the names. Any one of those 5 would be amazing to hear a remix of though, especially the first 2. Thanks for the awesome song from an awesome game,

-Porter

Ivan-Ether responds:

I'm actually working on Sol Sanctum and Vale right now. I might do that Venus Lighthouse (because it is the best song ever) and I MAY do the main theme.

I'm a flash game developer and programmer. My inspiration for game design generally comes from the NES/SNES days, but I've touched basically all there is and enjoy anything that's fun. I'm also the owner of Gemfruit Studios.
