memories for sure

You definitely get a 5/5 and 10/10, you gave me goosebumps with that one. I was about leave the song (not vote, but just leave the page) after hearing the oldschool bit, I liked it but I've heard it a billion times. Then you kick it up too a more powerful modern version, at this point I was thinking, "sick!" Then a few seconds later you kick it up even more into an even more upbeat, more modrenized sound, at which point I got goosebumps and declared this song awesome. Anyway, I love the transitions you have there, they're smooth, quick and work excellent. I the square synth? sound your using from FL, sounds like it to me at least. I was just playing super metroid again 2 days ago, finally got 100% item completion, about damn time hehe. Anyway, awesome song, glad to see great music being remixed in a great way.

I'm gonna admit that I'm kinda ticked that you almost left, but I'm glad you stayed to listen, and I bet you are, too. :3

Thanks for listening!

Crazy

This is the second song tonight I've found the author of. I have this song on my computer but had no idea who made it, just that I got it from newgrounds. I also found the FF chocobo race music Shawn did tonight just an hour ago, funny how I found one song I had from each of you I didn't know you guys made.

As for top gear, literally played it about 4 hours ago, had some good fun with that game back in the day, as well as tonight.

As for your song, it's very true to the original. It's upbeat, quick feeling and basic which is a good thing. I love how it's so fast, yet doesn't sound like chaos. You did an awesome job staying close to the original, I think I can tell the chime like sound is different that carries the main theme, not sure what it is. Anyway, it's a great song and I've listened to your version a ton of times, glad to know how made it so I can give credit where it's needed when I listen.

Beautiful

First off, I've found myself leaving a ton of reviews for you a Shawn lately, guess searching for good NG music leads me down that path hehe.

Anyway, I myself am a piano player, and this is amazing. I'm still learning the actual music concepts so I can't just sit down and make something like this up in an instant, so I definitely respect that. I can play by ear incredibly well though, so perhaps when I get a new keyboard I'll try and pick this up by ear as I've done with a few other newgrounds songs such as "long walk home". Anyway, the piano sound itself, not even the music, just the sound is amazing, is that your own piano? Info on that alone would be awesome. The composition itself, it just flows together amazingly smoothly. Doesn't have too much of a mood to me, it's one of those songs that just kind of represents time going by in a happy manor. It also gives me the vision of someone perhaps looking back on their life in a very casual way, no specific happy moment, just a random walk home with a smile, hard to explain. Anyway, love the piece and I DL'ed for later ear listening purposes and just to listen to it when I make a play list, thanks for the awesome music.

I appreciat all of your noting and feedback on my work! The sound is the main piano sound on my Yamaha synthesizer. Not the best sound nowa-days, but looking to buy a better sample soon. It is always nice to talk with and engage other musicians, very glad you took the time to hit me up and offer your opinions with me :) I used to play this back in college when people needed to relax/study/sleep, they all said it worked well.

Sweet

Glad to have heard this, wasn't sure if you were still doing music or not. I've listened to a ton of your stuff, known of you forever, spoke of you to chronomut a few times yet never directly to you hehe, funny how that happens. Anyways, do us a favor and convince Shawn to get back up and make music, you 2 are easily in my top 5 favorite NG artists.

As for the song, I was glad to hear this because I've had this melody stuck in my head since I played FF3/6 and I didn't know what it was from, just something I would whistle or hum, but couldn't recall where I got it from. I'm glad that mysteries been solved tonight thanks to this awesome piece. I really like the industrial sound in the background, the mix of the 8 bit like sounds in front, and the modernized orchestra redone feel holding it all together, it's a nice blend.

I too enjoyed that game to an incredible extent, I know a remake has got to be on the way for the DS in the near future, it's next in line to be announced I believe. On other you/FF news, I've been voting up your matoya song for months now whenever I remember, which is about once a week on average. That song rules and I hate that someone is down voting it, everytime I get it it up a bit someone down votes it the same day, lame.

Anyway, awesome piece and you did a great job with it, hope to hear more work from you soon, keep at it no matter how much life slows you down, this is something that should mean a ton to you and I truly enjoy the music you make to a great extent, peace out,

-Porter

Hello mega review! Well firstly I would really like to appreciate your in-depth look at my song and can't express how awesome it is for someone to take the time to give you this much feedback and criticism.

I can't tell you how often I have this dang song randomly stuck in my head, this and the kefka theme. I just whistle it at work all the time!

You nailed it, the industrial mixed with classic snes bass and updated strings was my exact approach. And I wanted to sincerely appreciate you for voting up my Matoya song. That really means a lot. And yes, I'm back on here and in full force, some new stuff will be coming soon. I'll see what I can do about Shawn hehe.

Thanks again for everything.

Holy mother of taco

This is definitely one of my favorite songs from you, if not my favorite. The base is incredibly clear, yet so powerful sounding. I'm so playing this at my next house party through surround sound with 2 speakers of which are about 4 feet tall, I'm gonna feel this music hitting me in the face, awesome.

Nice piece

It's a pretty sweet piece of music, as a whoel I think it's repetitive, but that happens to work in your favor this time. I'm looking for music for my new game, and you are the 3rd song in the industrial section to suit my needs, so go you. If I do use the track, I'll be cutting it in audacity to make a loop, I'm hope that's cool with you. As for the music, I like the build up, I like hows it's upbeat, and I really like how clear the audio quality is. Awesome job.

BlackViolet responds:

Yeah it's fine as long as you credit ^^"

I'm really happy to hear that and it would be my pleasure to have my song in your game!

Sick

Awesome song. Very upbeat, very strong feeling, all around awesome. You've also made the cut to be downloaded and possibly put into my next game, I'm still searching but your the first track tonight that's had the feel I'm looking for. If I use it I'll need to cut it in audacity and create a loop, all good by you? Sweet song btw, glad there was no distortion.

Dj-Fanta5t1c responds:

SURE THING MAN!

yea go ahead use in your games! thats why all the audio is on NG

Siiiiiiick

I like your style, and your taste in songs is amazing. This song is very upbeat, very joyful, fits the DK series well. My main complaint with this is the quality at times, but it probably doesn't help that my spearkers are blaring this throughout the house right now, o well. Overall, I like your style and your song selection, Ever played the goldensun games? That game has an amazing sound track, I would LOVE to see what you could do with it. Peace out.

woot

26 downloads and not a single review? What's with people these days :(
Anyway, I like the song, it's a little retro/NES sounding. It seems a little unpolished to be 10 worthy, but I still really like it. The audio quality also lacks a bit. On a more positive note, I love the upbeat feel to it, as well as the piano portion, it's great. You've clearly improved since you submitted this so kudos to you. Nice piece overall.
