Nice animation! The art / animation is a little rough around the edges at times, but the overall camera angles, sense of action, and movement are very good. Work on the contrast of text / titles - for instance, add a black slightly transparent background behind the subtitles, and it would look much better / make the text pop more. You could even add a simple button to show / hide the subtitles, which would be a nice touch.

Also, great use of my song "Shifting Sands". I pictured a desert when I made it, and it was really cool to see it used in exactly that way. Keep up the good work, you'll only get better as you go :)

crs05 responds:

Woooah thanks a lot. Now i'm working on episode 3, maybe i will use your song again and really? you made it to pictured a desert?

Hey man

It turned out awesome as is, I hated seeing it as this and not a game but shit happens. I won't bother flooding this review with reasons why I couldn't take this on, so here's some feedback. The animation was good all the way through, only part that really bugged me was the credits floating up too quickly. The scientists was a bit hard to hear, but I manged to make out what he was saying with head phones on, wasn't too bad. The Eel chase scene is what really felt like a game for me, at that point I flashed back to programming moving Maddex around, that scene was pretty intense. Not as much animal torturing as you were going to have in the game, but I guess it's good you have a change a pace from your recent works hehe. Overall it turned out pretty bad ass, honestly sorry I couldn't get it where we wanted it back in the day, I'll blame myself and the wonderful world of hard drive failure. Hope life's okay for ya, newgrounds reputation seems to be doing ok. Send me a PM sometime if you want, I don't use AIM anymore. Peace,

Appreciate it man. Where have you been? Like you dropped off the planet for a while there...

Wow

I know that there's always someone out there who will claim to be able to relate perfectly to the video, but I didn't expect it to be me. I myself just got done relationship of over 2 years recently, but entirely got over it just an hour or so ago before watching this. I had already moved on with my side, and tried to set my mind straight and was doing pretty well, but there was a bit of hesitation in there somewhere. I talked to the girl tonight about it and she for the first time finally apologized for everything, and we really set things straight and are friends again, just an hour before watching this video. I'm not one to say everything happens for a reason, or that I was meant to watch this movie now, but sometimes you just have to wonder because man could I relate so deeply to this after just having all this happen so soon ago.

As for the movie, amazing expression of feelings through animation, you did a great job there. The art style really worked for me, it was that quickly drawn sketchy style, but you didn't do it so fast that things looked bad, or out of place, it was just right for me. the characters looked really good, and the song worked perfectly for the story depicted in the animation, or rather the animation worked perfectly for the song. The animation was at times a bit rough, but that was the style, this was no 40 fps crazy animation, this was a well done rough yet styled animation of a music video, and it came out great. I can see you going somewhere with all this, and even if you don't, don't ever stop doing what makes you happy for any reason, keep it up.

I did not think my animation would be that deep, but I'm happy it is. Thanks for the comment!

Double Dragon Forever

I remember playing double dragon 2 over and over when I was younger, that was one of my favorite games back then. It was awesome to see them come to life again in a new art style that was crisp and smooth and to watch them kick some ass while they were at it. Overall superb animation and quality all around. The voice acting was good, but the sound quality was bad, may have been compression issues ( I know how that goes) or just may have been bad recording equipment. Not a set back at all though, just trying to find something to give advice on. Anyway, thanks for rekindling a memory hidden deep in the back of my head, awesome job.

PS: Was the name of the final boss in Double Dragon 2 the shadow lord? Either way that would have made a sick fight at the end, he was neat :P

XtremelyVenomous responds:

YOU, my friend .... talk like the DD fan i was ... thanks for reviewing. and btw. that BOSS with blond hair is DUKE from Super Double Dragon. and if u love part 2 the way u mentioned .. i think u should recognize the big guy in red.

Getting there

I can see that your capable of producing something of higher quality. HEres a few pointers on how to do better. First, watch your layering, you had a few bad spots that were just lazy, reckless, or you just didn't see them somehow. Secondly, your art could be better, although it did have a style to it that worked well enough. You picked good music to go along, set the mood right. Lastly, spend more time, I remember when all I wanted was to finish something so that I could get it through judgment, however if you just spend enough time to make it exactly how you imagined and wanted it, the outcome is so much more rewarding. Anyway, keep at it, there is potential here.

FunnySatisfaction responds:

thanks yes it is the problem that i want to finish it quick thanks i´ll try to make better next time

Sweet

I finally watched it, and it was worth my time hehe. Just out of curiosity, did you actually do the half beard? because I'm the kind of "moron" who would totally do this, and am now contemplating doing so, if you did this, props to you man. Great art and animation and an awesome random story to go with it, keep it up.

Bobert-Rob responds:

I have. If you want to see, check out the news post I made on my account page. Y'know, the one you can see by clicking my name in orange. Yup, that one. Nifty. More pictures are available, but you gotta be willing to look around for them. Thanks for the compliments, and review!

Very nice.

First of all i think its kick ass you actually respond to like every review (being my ironik luck you wont to mine) anyway ya i loved the 3d and the look of the characters. alot of people dont appreciate how well done this was. alot of people said it was alot like the matrix sceene but i found it alot more like the fight between Squall and Seifer from FF VIII. not just the music either all of it. anyway great job you deserve a slighty better score then you got but you know its not perfect. GJ

LeviFolds responds:

irony is brutal but in this case, seeing as i am responding, youre off the hook - i got a lot of people talking about inaccuracies in the story/movie and similarities between this and ff7 or 8 or WHATEVER - i never played the game or saw that opening, its cruel fucking coinsidence that it resembles the scene from ff 7 or 8 or whatever - its a battle guys, its bound to have similarities - anyways, thanks
