hehe

O man, good ole memories from this one, "you come from Americola?"
I still remember calling my local game store because the game didn't come with instructions used (if you remember you need them for a password to continue the game at one point).

As for the music, nice tribute. Upbeat, jazzy and true to the original, great job.

UpBeat

Wicked upbeat, i love that in music. hehe, i just noticed i typed upBeat, I was just coding so thats my coding rubbing off on me, ima leave the title the way it is though. Anyway, very catchy, very upbeat, and nice and clear version of a great song.

Sweet

Very nice choice of instruments, very well put together array of sounds in there. Song could have used a slight quality boost, but I do have it up pretty loud, none the less a great remix of a great song.

Awesome

That's one kick ass remix. Not only Am I probably the biggest Super Mario World fan in the world, and if not I'll swear my life I'm tied, but this is my favorite song from the game.

As for your remix, I like how it's very energetic feeling, very upbeat. Melody still stays true to the original. I'm personally not a fan of the Jamster frog noise or whatever it is you got going on in there, hope you know what sound im talking about, but it doesn't hurt the song at all, i would just prefer it not in there. Also It is a dance remix so I guess it fits well. I love the arpeggio (I think thats what it is) of the rise and decline of the fast notes, sounds amazing. Great job overall, needs a better ending but amazing for your first piece.

Awesomenessism

I love the guitar in metal, and I almost always hate the singing. This piece has a sick melody and no singing to mess it all up (in my opinion). This song should have been in guitar hero 3, kick ass piece you got here.

Well done

Woah there buddy, let a few reviews com in first :P

This song does have it's differences from the origonal and I can hear them clearly. The instruments are different and some of the notes according to my memory seem to be held longer in places to give a different feel. I do believe I hear some added strings in there as well. I think you did a great job, let it get some attention before you judge it to much :)

Cosmos8942 responds:

Hmm...maybe, its just that I really do not want anything that sounds ALOT like the original. But I do tend to judge myself the hardest ><...probably something I should get away from.

I dunno... if you say you hear differences then cool...

But thanks for the 10/10, and I always enjoy reading reviews (minus the truly horrid ones).

Awesome style

I just listened to your FF7 piece and I really like the different approuch you've taken to both of these pieces, it's very origonal and it works well.

To the person below its a remix from FF10 and it's a damn good remix at that.

Ninja

All I can think of is a platformer game inside a ninja dojo or something of the sort. I like the solid NES sound with the melody, although its not quite NES, a little more modern but has the NES feel. Nice job.

Charem responds:

That's exactly the feel I wanted -- classic, and yet modern ever so slightly with the percussion. Thanks for the review!

Memories

Good times, blaster master is one of my favorite NES games of all time, That tank got some kick ass upgrades later on, Never beat it though, gut stuck on a leverl pretty far in where you play as just the boy and cant use the vehicle, cheap ass enemies :P

Music has a very clear sound, nice beat and represents the origonal with a crisp sound. Sweet stuff. 5/5

Sweet

Nice beat, very mysterious and dangerous sounding. It is true that less and less people are reviewing audio these days, to bad too some of my favorite music is on this site.

"Thanks for the review. I barely get reviews these days for my audio. Why is it a good thing that you can't find the loop?"

as for that, when people use music in their flash games they like music that will loop and you cant tell when it loops, because if theres any spot where it dies out, then starts up again, or the notes dont flow when it does restart, it sounds bad, if you were to use this song the player would think its just one very long song that keeps on going, and they never hear the song start over and sound all out of place.

Well nice job, great loop with an awesome beat.

I'm a flash game developer and programmer. My inspiration for game design generally comes from the NES/SNES days, but I've touched basically all there is and enjoy anything that's fun. I'm also the owner of Gemfruit Studios.
