I'm a flash game developer and programmer. My inspiration for game design generally comes from the NES/SNES days, but I've touched basically all there is and enjoy anything that's fun. I'm also the owner of Gemfruit Studios.

Professional Game Consulting

Posted by Matt-Porter - January 25th, 2012

Hey everyone, I've got some semi-exciting news, especially to those of you who are developers. As some of you know, I've been an incredibly active member over on FlashGameLicense for the last few years. I'm the highest level "player" account on the site from leaving reviews on people's work, and I've now officially grown it into a small business.

I now offer professional game consulting for your games. My main services are reviewing "completed" games and picking them apart to tell you everything that needs to be fixed before an actual release, and providing mini game design documents on how to properly sequel one of your previous games. Feel free to pitch custom jobs however, as the above services don't cover everything I'm capable of doing. Both services have been used by top Newgrounds developers, such as LongAnimals (developer of Cyclomaniacs) and EffingGames (developer of Effing Worms), and both have been exceptionally happy with what I provided.

I'm pretty excited about this, and so far the feedback has been amazing. I've been doing this for years for free, trying to get jobs through random people, but it turns out that starting up my own service was best. For full details, check out my blog post on my game consulting services.

Ill only use your services if I can get a seal of approval icon in the shape of your avatar

If I start passing out seals of approval, Jay from over at JayIsGames might get a little pissed at me for entering his turf. That being said, for you, I can make it happen, it's a deal.

How about you put a NEWGROUNDS SEAL OF APPROVAL on every game and link it to Newgrounds. We could pay you per game! Ya know I'm saying this as a joke but at the same time would totally consider it considering we're getting priced out of sponsorships. :P

Haha, that would be pretty great, but do you trust my judgement enough to let me represent Newgrounds? What COULD be done, is you could send any game you win the sponsorship for (or have high bids in) my way, and I could ensure they touch it up before release. While this won't get you any traffic on non-Newgrounds games (boo!), it would definitely increase the value of what you DO sponsor by far more than my services cost. Hells yeah that's a sales pitch, but it's also true, so keep me in mind!

If you ever want a real Newgrounds seal of approval, come to FlahGameSummit, have a few drinks, we'll talk ;)

Yeah P-P- Porter you really should make that part of your service (the seal I mean). If your customers ingratiate all your suggestions then they will be "allowed" and have the privilege of carrying your seal of approval. I would love to design the seal for you man, hit me up in chat and I will get right on it for you.

If it ever happens, you're totally in. BTW, I don't know if I was drunk or what, but when did you start the triple-P thing? I really don't recall when/why it started, but I like it.
